About Us

Exterior view of the Elks Lodge with a moose statue.

On July 20, 2025, more than a thousand runners crossed the start and finish line right here at the Augusta Elks Lodge, cheered on by a crew that knows how to host. That same energy shows up whether it's race day, a Saturday wedding, or a Tuesday lodge meeting. The building has been through a serious renovation, and it shows: the banquet room is brand new, the garden arch is finished, a large tent with removable sides stands ready for any weather, and the gazebo overlooks scenery that guests keep mentioning in their reviews.

The BPOE Augusta Lodge has been part of this city's civic fabric for generations, and the address on Civic Center Drive puts you minutes from downtown Augusta and the Kennebec River. What you get here is not a sterile event hall rented by the hour. You get a membership organization that actually cares whether your event succeeds, a staff that works with a smile, and a space that earns 4.5 stars across 158 reviews because people keep coming back and telling their friends.

From October weddings under a canopy of Maine foliage to spring fundraisers and community runs, the Lodge adapts to the moment. The outdoor ceremony space, the covered tent, and the renovated interior give planners genuine flexibility. If you have been searching for a venue that feels local, looks polished, and delivers on its promises, this is the place.

What We Offer

The Lodge offers a renovated banquet room that seats groups comfortably for weddings, receptions, anniversaries, corporate dinners, award banquets, and milestone celebrations. The room is fully updated, with modern lighting and a clean aesthetic that photographs beautifully.

Outdoors, the garden ceremony space features a decorative arch, a classic gazebo, and a large tent with removable sides that handles Maine's unpredictable weather without missing a beat. The combination of indoor and outdoor options on a single property means you can plan a ceremony outside and flow directly into your reception without busing guests across town. The Lodge also serves as a proven race venue, having hosted the Great Augusta Marathon series including the half marathon, 10K, and 5K, making it a strong partner for athletic events and community fundraisers.

Lodge membership brings additional benefits: a sense of belonging to a national fraternal organization with deep charitable roots, access to regular programming, and the satisfaction of supporting community giving throughout the greater Augusta area.

"The Elks Lodge was the Start and finish for the Great Augusta Marathon, Half, 10k and 5 k on July 20, 2025. It was an awesome venue and they were a gracious host. The facility is pleasant, well maintained and has very good parking. Lifestyle Sports Global, LLC was able to use the lawn, top outdoor area for a DJ and we were able to set up three 10 x 12 canopies to provide cover for race volunteers. We could not be happier with the BPOE for providing us with this great venue."

"The Augusta Elk's Lodge was the perfect small town venue for my sister's October wedding. We were blessed with gorgeous weather that day and were able to enjoy the outdoor ceremony slash gazebo spot and then indoors too! Everything looked so well put together, their bar, the dance floor, even the restrooms were squeaky tidy clean! WE ABSOLUTELY HAD A BLAST!!! I'll rate it 6/10 however due to the event planner lady immediately verbally unloading her management/ disgruntled employee complaints & stresses onto my sister the moment she entered the venue the morning of the biggest day of her life. I did not appreciate that what so ever..... LIKE HOW UNPROFESSIONAL CAN YOU BE GOODNESS GRACIOUS!?"

"My company held a couple of events here. It's a nice building, plenty of room for 100+ people. The AC was cranked so dress warm. Not sure if Elks Lodge did the catering or not but it was very basic and there wasn't enough food for everyone."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
